First time at training for a sprint competition. I was very active in sports in high school (15 years ago); I wrestled mainly. I have injoyed running off/on over the years, mainly to get in shape and lose a few pounds, but nothing really stuck.

As a long time admirer of the Triathlete, I am now 33, 1 son and 1 more due on August 31, the owner of my own business and midway through a 5-year-planned restoration of my 1924 Californian-Eclectic Mediteranean home. I have committed the time to train and compete in my first sprint triathlon on Aug. 28 (Tri-The-Rock, Rockwall, TX). I have a little over 4 months and am very excited. The bonus will be my gradual decline in weight from my current 245 to my goal of 200 by competition (2 pounds per week). I just pray that the baby doesn't come early.

Thanks to BeginnerTriathlete for the Training Log and great articles.

Wish me luck!!!
