Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC I have dirt on site Also have some half-burned wood (charcoal) in the fire pit which will make good soot stains. Don't have fabric pen or blood-making ingredients (I've done karo + food coloring before in theater but that was to simulate blood, not blood stains on clothes). Thanks to those that have RSVPed. Anyone who hasn't that's coming please do so... though you can also make a last minute decision to show up without an RSVP. Word on the street is that one of the die hard movies will be playing in the background too. |

I might try to hit the new Halloween store close by to look for some fake blood. Don't worry, I've got the blood under control (fake of course ) Edit: I have the puffy paint for the shirts and the shirts too. These quotes are great!! Can someone compile a list of all them from the thread, print out a few copies, and bring them to the HH? Edited by dolelicious 2009-09-16 2:50 PM |

Expert 1743 Glen Burnie, Maryland | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC Here's some sites with quotes from the movies: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095016/quotes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099423/quotes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337978/quotes Some good ones: Die Hard: You throw quite a party. I didn't realize they celebrated Christmas in Japan. Nine million terrorists in the world and I gotta kill one with feet smaller than my sister. Yippee-ki-yay, motherfu**er. Come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs. Now I know what a TV dinner feels like .Sister Teresa called me Mr. McClane in the third grade. My friends call me John, and you're neither, -head But, all things being equal, I'd rather be in Philadelphia Who's driving this car, Stevie Wonder? Die Hard 2: What sets off the metal detectors first? The lead in your or the in your brains? Another basement, another elevator. How can the same happen to the same guy twice? Take the Twinkie out of your mouth and grab a pencil, will ya? Just the fax, ma'am. Just the fax. Hey, well, as far as I'm concerned, progress peaked with frozen pizza. Not the kind of ride I'm looking for. Oh, we are just up to our in terrorists again, John? Live Free or Die Hard: Well, just sit tight, . I gotta check for you This is not a good idea! Command center? It's a basement. I have my moments. It seemed like a good idea at the time. That's enough of this Kung-Fu After all we've been through, I'd *hate* to have to beat you to death. I'm gettin' too old to jump out of cars. Another day in paradise. Sexy, right? It's a little thing they invented back in the sixties called 'jogging'. You're gonna love it. Come on You know, chicks dig scars. This should be a good start. I tried to keep out the ones with a lot of profanity. |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC I posted this a while back... JoshKaptur - 2009-08-13 9:53 AM Okay folks, here are some die hard quotes for you to memorize and say to others when you pass them during the race (sorry these are not all from live free or die hard)... "you're in my little pond now, and I'm the big fish that runs it" "mutherf*ckin mutherf*cker" "hey carmine, let me ask you something. what sets off the metal detectors first? the lead in your a$$ or the $hit in your brains?" "you're the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time" of course -- "yippie kai yay, mutherf*cker" This one just because it's rediculous... imagine saying it to a runner as you pass them "why did you bring a cop to my command center?" "Damn hamster" "last time I saw her she was at the bottom of en elevator shaft with an SUV rammed up her " "After all we've been through, I'd hate to have to beat you to death" Listen, will you just take a minute and dig deep for a bigger set of balls, 'cause you're gonna need 'em before we're through" "you're a timex watch in a digital age" "I could come and find you, kick your a$$, and throw you out of your own party. Whadda ya think of that, d*ckhead?" Ask someone if they have a plan for their race, then say: "you can stick your well-laid plan up your well-laid s$$" "I'm a soldier, not a monster... even though I sometimes work for monsters" "Sister Theresa called me Mr. McClain in third grade, and my friends call me John... and you're neither, sh*t-head" That should be enough for now... Josh (what I lack in fitness, I make up for in douchbaggery). |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC Sorry I couldn't make it guys. Had every intent, but when we got home from x-country had to feed the kids and get them into bed (the wife has a running club obligation on Thurs. nights as well). By that time it was after 8:30 and I would not have gotten there until well after 9. That's just too late. Hopefully you had a decent turn out and finalized some stuff. Just let me know if anything new has been decided. |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC Too late to change order? I said I would do the longest/hardest legs as you felt necessary. Still willing to do that. Edit: See they increased leg 2 of my run from 3 miles to 4.8. So I'm still scheduled to do the most overall (22.9). That works. Edited by Daremo 2009-09-22 1:24 PM |

Extreme Veteran 484 Glen Burnie, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC Okay Van 2 - I hope you are ready for this... they've added 10 miles to the course - and all of it is van 2! Now instead of van 2 being the "easy van", it's the "hard van" - with more climbing AND more miles. All I have to say is Josh and Andy - it's a good thing you've been running trails... And me.. well I won't be running 8:45s for over 10 miles knowing I have 2 more runs to do within the following 18 hours. It also sets us back over an hour... Now I feel really sorry for that 2 man team Scott was talking about... I'll send out the updated spreadsheet tonight. |

Extreme Veteran 484 Glen Burnie, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC JoshKaptur - 2009-09-22 2:19 PM I love it... "I have to update the spreadsheet..." Like you won't enjoy it! LOL! thanks for calling me out... sadly, I enjoyed it greatly We still have our 2 fastest runners on the longest cumulative distance. Andy and Josh just added about 400 ft of climbing and 3 and 5 miles total (respectively). We can definitely re-arrange as we see fit - but we need to decide BEFORE the race (so I can update my spreadsheet ). The only changes to the extremes of each leg were that now I have the longest distance single leg and Josh has the most climbing in the middle of the night - as well as a longer distance. I'm fine with doing the extra distance .. I built up to 41 miles last week and a long run of 16 so I should be okay doing the extra distance - I just wish it was the last leg for me so I could treat it as a half-marathon pace run (which I still might do.. we'll see). Josh, Andy - Let us know if you guys are okay with the changes. |

It still shows us finishing in front of the Capitol... kind of interested how they are going to get us to RFK. Just snooping - but the updated maps are in the Race Bible. They have not updated the links to the course maps elsewhere on the site. At the team captain's meeting, the RD said that he would update the Race Bible first since that contains everything we need, including the individual maps. |

That one had the meeting minutes in i - if you didn't and want the minutes, PM me your email and I'll forward it to you. It was on Friday, but it was in South Arlington, so that might have been far for you to come anyway. |
