Hi All,

New to the forum/tri's

Anyone got advice/favorite spots for open water swimming in the nashua area? I'm starting to feel confined in the pool and want to spend some time getting used to swimming in the wet suit...

advice would be great!

joe,

i just started to train for my first tri and cant crawl stroke more than a couple of laps in the pool.  It looks like I am a little behind you but I hope to catch up!  Have you considered Silver Lake in Hollis?  I live a mile or two from there and by my quick calculation it is probably 1/4 mile long.  I hope to try my first swim there later this week.

I've thought about Silver Lake, I bike by it pretty regularly. I've taken to hitting Walden after work, since there's a lot of tri people there, and it's convenient to my office in Acton.

I have a friend who used to swim at Silver Lake, before becoming pregnant.

Baboossic Lake in Amherst/Merrimack is a good one just depends on the time and make sure if you are off the shoreline that you have something with you because depending on the day there can be some boats out there.
