So I change to a different set of tires. Now I get no MPH reading on my Sigma bike computer. I even adjusted the gap a few times from the pick up to the sensor. I checked my connections and no wires broken or anything else.

I get my cadence and everything else. Just no MPH.

Its a Sigma computer had it for about 3 months.

any suggestions besides throwing it away?

Generally the cadence sensor is separate from the speed sensor, are you sure you've adjusted the one that deals with speed (for my computer the speed sensor is on the back wheel)?

Yes my cadence pick up is on my crank, my speed sensor and pick up on on the front wheel. No way to miss it.

Switch the magnets and see if that works?

I know that when I changed bike frames and switched the old computer to the new bike, it would not read MPH properly if the tire size was not input correctly.

I don't know exactly what model Sigma you have, but this may be a start:

I had a similar problem when moving my Cateye Strada wireless from my old bike to my new one.  The computer was all wigged out...I'd get a speed reading for about 1 block, then it would go out.  Turns out that I had my magnet on incorrectly.  Check to see if your magnet is seated properly on the spoke.  Even just a little bit off, could mess things up.

Is your speed sensor wireless?

If so, did you check the battery in the sensing unit? My brand new Specialized bike computer worked great for the first ride, then this last Saturday - no speed, but cadence (which is wired). Swapped the battery and all good.

As noted, that magnet needs to pass within a narrow band on the sensor, so see if moving it up or down on the spoke slightly helps it hit that sweet spot.  Or maybe it just died.  I buy cheap bike computers, and occasionally they go to bike computer heaven.
