This is the ad from CG: And pedals are included Email me for professional pictures This is a great entry tri bike!! It has only 100 miles on it and bought it brand new. Was placed in the house during the off season. This bike has been treated with care it has no scratches or chips in the frame. Before this bike is purchased it will be all tuned up with no extra charge. |

At the risk of pouring water on your ever burning bike flame, how do you know the S32 will be a correct fit for you? If it's in the ballpark, obviously the newer one will probably be better, if for no other reason it comes with a warranty, no use, etc. WDYBS? (What Does Your Budget Say?) John |

John I'm riding the S32 after work... I tried it on the trainer and was going to take it outside at my LBS but it started to storm. The budget could support the S32.... |

Veteran 499 El Segundo, CA | Subject: RE: WWBTD? If it's within your budget, get the Felt*. -Not just newer, but 7 years newer. -Never used- it's always a bit of a gamble to buy a used bike from CL due to non-obvious, but potentially serious, issues (i.e. hairline cracks in the frame due to crashing or dropping). -Most importantly, the fitting. You're probably looking at $100-$200 to get the other bike professionally fit. *This all assumes, of course, the the S32 actually does fit you. |

Veteran 167 Middleton, ID | Subject: RE: WWBTD? I suppose I am a little biased I love my FELT I ride a 2006 felt b2 and am about to upgrade to the 2009 B12. So as long as the FELT is a good fit and within your budget I say go for it. Then you can rest assured that your bike is under warranty. In the end I would say to go for whatever is the best fit for you! |

Extreme Veteran 3177 | Subject: RE: WWBTD? I think it comes down to how much you would want to spend. If you are ok to spend the extra money I would do that. You quote 1100 in your post but the link says 12-- something. I am guessing 2009 vs 2008 model discounts? Keep in mind some of the extras you might have to get for the felt though. Would you need pedals or do you have some for the Bike shop to put on? What about a computer and computer wiring etc... If it was me I would go with the newer Felt. First it comes with a fit..second even older model bikes, as long as they are new, still have their warrenty which could help provide a bit of piece of mind. I would say new! |

Champion 5117 Brandon, MS | Subject: RE: WWBTD? Questions on the QR... 1. Only 100 miles in 7 years? It says they treated it with care, but who only rides 100 miles in 7 years and actually takes good care of a bike? They probably found it in their garage and hosed it down. 2. Why the new tires, computer, and aero bottle if only ridden 100 miles in 7 years? What were they getting the new stuff for? You want the bike, not that stuff, so don't pay for it. 3. Original components on the QR? I guess if it's only been ridden 100 miles then ok, but I bet it would need a new chain plus that's some decent aging on the components and wheels. You'll probably need pedals, too.
Get the Felt.

To the OP, the points above are all good ones. The ad seems suspect to me, although all of the statements could be true. Regardless, I have a 2008 Felt B2 I bought last December from the LBS and love it. How it feels and fits you is the biggie, though. I rode a Cervelo P2C and liked it as much as the Felt, but it wasn't as good a deal. Greg |

Extreme Veteran 763 | Subject: RE: WWBTD? I have a friend that bought a bike off ebay that was a pretty good deal. By the time he was done fitting it he was into another $500. When you consider your LBS will do the fitting and most likely swap out like quality parts (stems, bars, saddles etc.) for ones that you like or want it is a no brainer to go with the new bike. Expert 1099 Broadlands | Subject: RE: WWBTD? To the OP, I have just bought the 2009 S32, it's a very very nice bike, I'm not sure there are too many changes from the 2008, I would definately go for the FELT, it's a really good ride, controlled, responsive. The QR being a 2001 model will not have the companents the FELT has I think. although you can check that out. S32 gets my shout, i own one and I am very happy with it. |

Pro 5011 Twin Cities | Subject: RE: WWBTD? I would not pay 650 for that Kilo (And, FWIW, the seller sounds a bit sketchy). So if I were choosing between your two options, I'd go Felt. (But I can't ride Felt, so I wouldn't be riding that one anyway :p) But really, if you haven't tried any tri bikes out yet...I think you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice by not trying some. I'm not saying BUY one. Hell, you can still buy online or used. But go to a shop, find out what you need. Short stack, long reach? Short learch, tall stack? Average? Aggressive position, or more relaxed. What kind of material? If you ride aluminum, do you NEED carbon seat stays? Or are you okay without. Etc etc etc. |

Regular 357 | Subject: RE: WWBTD? I'm going to recommend the S32 for three reasons. 1) Sunrise Tri, which you linked, is my LBS. I've had nothing but great service from them, and I'm sure your experience would be similar. 2) It's your hobby. Get something you're going to enjoy. and most importantly, 3) The S32 is much hotter! |

Champion 6627 Rochester Hills, Michigan | Subject: RE: WWBTD? Felt, period. Unless it doesn't fit, see below. The Kilo is soooper entry level, components, etc. Plusses: low cost, decent riding position. Be prepared for a little bit of maintenance, some component swapping. Specially off a 2001 model. the geometry will be fine, for the first-timer. The S32, at least this year's has amazing componentry, I've seen a LOT of folks ride this model like the beast that it is. You'll get better / less worn components, plus a 5 year newer frame, which matters. Also check the fork, dunno whether the kilo comes with carbon, or whether the felt comes with carbon fork, it's worth checking. |

One easy way to spot people selling a bike they have no idea about (meaning stolen/found in the attic/bought at a garage sale) is when they call tires wheels. Like this one: "Brand New gator skin wheel" |
