Subject: Try a tri trianing
I'm signed up fpr a Try a tri in 8 weeks and currently have run in 10 k races in 57 minutes. I bike sparingly and Swim when I have to but never for distance.
What should I be focused on to prepare tocomplete this little venture.

it is 300 M swim 10K bike and 3 K run , small but I wna to focus on right things and move up to a sprint.

Help

Consistency, try doing little bits of training most days instead of being lazy 6 days of the week and doing a huge training session 1 day a week.

Make sure you are confident swimming the 300m, beginners struggle with this the most. A swim class or two would be very beneficial just to give you some confidence.

If you can run 10k races, you will have no problem with the run.

Practice going for a bike ride and then going for a short run straight after, as your legs feel kind of like jelly after you bike, just get used to the feeling before race day.

Don't over-do the training, consistency is the key remember.

Good luck, let us all know how your training is going and a recap on your race so we can all say well done and welcome to the club!

Happy training....

I am going to guess you probably already know the answer, but don't want to hear it. S, B, r. I put the r small, because with a running background, it is not as crucial. I would say, most important for you would be swimming and working on some sort of form. At least 3 times a week. Bike the same, 3 or so times a week, getting decent time in the saddle. Also, bricks (swim then bike right after, or bike then run right after) This will let your muscles and HR realize what it will feel like come race day.

Another idea is go to Programs here on this great site and they can give you a training program for a sprint within a certain amt. of weeks. Take a look.
