I am signed up for the Devilman. I am traveling from RI for it. It is a warmup/test for IMLP. Anyone else doing it?

I plan on doing the sprint as a warmup for Columbia the following week.

BrianPBN is also doing the sprint and more than likely will be 1st overall.

I just read on another site that somebody measured the water temp and it was 68*. That's the same as my first sprint tri was and I braved it w/o wetsuit then. I guess I am doing the same for this one. Anyone going wetsuit?

I am wearing a sleeveless. I don't like any temp less than bath water......

Going full wetsuit here.  My pool at the Y is kept in the 80s (84 recently),so I don't think I could do 68F without it right now.

I'll be there, to watch only. Too early in the season for me to do that distance.  Good luck and kick ass everyone!

latest weather.com report says scattere thunderstorms starting late sat. night into early sunday morning and 30% chance of showers all morning

will they still have the swim in the rain? as long as there is no thunder and lightning?

or will they turn it into a du if it raining?

John,

I was wondering the same thing ....normally they are on lin marks website but they didn't score this race b/c they were at the DE marathon ...I am sure that both piranha sports and lin mark have had several emails asking the same thing ...let me know if you find out and vice versa (even though it was crampfilled day for me)

They were a few hitches, but I thought the race was very well organized. I'm just so glad the weather cooperated.

here is the return email i got from the race director Neil... i sent him an email asking where i could find the race results...

John,

They will be posted at www.piranha-sports.com. Timing crew was from Mass. Can you give me a few days (tomorrow morning hopefully)?

Thanks for racing with us!

Neil.

john,

thanks for the info ..i got the same email ...normally, lin mark does the timing for piranha and their results are up withing minutes of completion ( which should be the case for the philly tri as well) but they were scoring the DE marathon

I did the sprint and didn't have a good day ....got a cramp early in the swim and struggled just to finish the swim with every stroke possible ....the bike was ok but my legs were shot on the run ...normally, i can easliy run sub 8's after the bike ....and have done this numerous times with my bricks but i struggled to keep it under 10's

it was great that the weather cooperated ...as for organization .....well, it was ok

there was a lot of confusion on the swim start ....people were warming up at the exit of the swim and thought that was where the start was but it was clear to me, the swim was on the other side ...i think this is why it started over 15 minutes late

the bike was well marked and didn't ear of any problems there

same for the run, with water @ every mile

the location itself was in the boonies and thank god it was early in bug season ....would hate to be there later in the summer

I just got an autoreply from Neil.  The results are up at coolrunning.com

I thought the same thing about the organization.  I knew the swim was on the other side as we were told in the pre-race meeting on Sat.  But even there, the woman who gave the talk didn't seem to know the course, so it just seemed a little "loose" on the organization.  I was told by some others as we waited for the swim start that Neil usually runs a pretty tight ship, so maybe this was just some kinks given first time nature of the event.  Overall, I'd say it was good--only the pre-race organization seemed off.  During & after was great.
