Expert 1170 Southern Pines, NC | Subject: What kind of seat bag for a "bare" P2C seatpost? I've been looking around for a good seat bag for the Cervelo P2C since I quit using rear-mounted hydration. Without the XLab sonic wing I was using, there's really no good place to hang a seat bag, at least not in the usual way. At the 78-degree position with a saddle mounted fairly far forward it's tough to find something that doesn't flop around and get annoying. I've searched around and can't really find a good solution. I just need a small bag for CO2, multi-tool, patches, and a new tube. Any thoughts/ideas? Pics are welcome... |

Not sure of the problem you're having with hanging a seat bag, mine fits on my P2with no problem except I had to make an extension strap out of velcro to go around the aero seat tube. Less than 49¢ worth of velcro from Walmart... |

Master 1411 Lexington, KY | Subject: RE: What kind of seat bag for a "bare" P2C seatpost? I have two bags that fit back there without modifying them. One is an old Trek bag I bought years ago, and another is a new Pearl Izumi seat bag. The latter sticks up above the seat a tiny amount, but looks fine imo. |

I found that I wasn't using it during rides/races. For some reason I had a mental block about drinking. I switched to the Profile Aqualite, and now I can 1. remember to drink, and 2. not have to break out of my aero position to get a drink, something I couldn't do very well before. Just what worked for me... |

Expert 1139 Austin | Subject: RE: What kind of seat bag for a "bare" P2C seatpost? I have the same problem on my P2. I have a trek seat bag, but it fits on there very akwardly with the seat in the front position pushed pretty far forward. Even with velcro extenders it doesn't want to stay snug all the time. Let us know if you find a better solution as I haven't really looked for anything. |

I'm actually contemplating a solution that could make me a zillionaire, although it does involve my Sonic Wing and a hacksaw, so I'm reluctant. We'll see. |

I use Pedro's Micro Blowout, 25ci. http://www.pedros.com/blowoutbag.htm No strap for the seatpost, straps on the rails as they angle up to the back of the saddle. My saddle is all the way forward. Fits a tube, microflate, 2x CO2 and a couple bucks. |

Member 52 columbia, sc | Subject: RE: What kind of seat bag for a "bare" P2C seatpost? I recently ran ito this problem aswell. I used to have the xlab mount on the rear but hardly ever need more than my aquacell. My solution was simple. Run a cable (zip) tie through the two vertical holes. This give you a vertical loop to run the straps through that would normally go around the seat rails.I'm going to attempt to attach a photo. Veteran 378 The Cold North | Subject: RE: What kind of seat bag for a "bare" P2C seatpost? I have the same problem. I finally just bought a very small bag and used zip ties to attach it to what's left of the rails (I put the zip ties under the velcro straps that were supposed to go on the rails). They can fit up under the seat a bit so it solves my problem of not really having any rails to attached the bag from. It's not ideal, but it works. |

Just what worked for me... You don't have to use the sonic wing for the hydration part. Use your Aqualite to drink. Put the CO2 and release valve in the nut and use the XLAB straps for the tube and levers. If you want more, there is a small pouch you can get that can latch on with all that to hold the park tool, levers, pathces, etc. The bento box is great but you shouldn't need that in addition to the sonic wing, and don't need to jury rig a bag on the seat tube. |

Master 3205 ann arbor, michigan | Subject: RE: What kind of seat bag for a "bare" P2C seatpost? On my P2 I jammed a tube under my seat and electric taped it I'm place. I taped a CO2 on top of one of my aero bar extensions where it didn't bother me but was out of the wind. You could do this with tire levers and a multitool as well. It makes everything invisible and keeps the bike looking nice. I like this solution for any bike. I have taped a tube to the top of my stem instead of under my seat. There are a lot of creative ways to carry emergency supplies. |

I've seen so many mentions of getting a tube, levers, etc jammed under a seat, but can't imagine how it would fit looking at my bike. I also can't figure how people are wrapping the tape around to hold it all in. Anyone have a pic of this type of setup to share? I'm not doubting, I'd just like to see how it works. |
