Total Time = 1h 28m 33s
Overall Rank = 328/1000
Age Group = 30 - 34
Age Group Rank = 49/99
Pre-race routine:

Attended a dinner in the city and didn't get home until midnight. Three hours of sleep is not a good idea.
Event warmup:

N/A
Swim
  • 28m 38s
  • 1000 meters
  • 02m 52s / 100 meters
Comments:

I suck. Couldn't relax on the way out. With about 5 minutes to go I finally got it together and worked on technique. Cupping my hands, pulling with the whole arm, keeping the arm in front longer. It made a big difference. Next time I'll have to do it for the whole 1km.
What would you do differently?:

See above.
Transition 1
  • 03m 31s
Comments:

Had trouble getting swim cap off. Otherwise went well. Sat down and that helped.
What would you do differently?:

Take off swim cap while running.
Bike
  • 31m 16s
  • 15 kms
  • 28.78 km/hr
Comments:

Was more out of breath from swim than I should have been. Caused problem on first monster hill. Fact that I was in early heat helped as I was able to chase down people in front of me.
What would you do differently?:

Keep overall pace quicker. I slacked off at times.
Transition 2
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

No complaints.
Run
  • 23m 37s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 43s  min/km
Comments:

Overall felt good. Hill was a long winding pain in the ass.
What would you do differently?:

Should have kept pace up hill faster.
Post race
Warm down:

Oops.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No sleep.

Event comments:

Definately would do it again.
