I'll probably have more questions the next week or so, but today i have a question about cable tv providers.

We want to get that in the works so we can get service soon.   We don't know anything about what companies provide service to Parker and who should we contact.   We would like to have a provider that offers internet service as well.

Anyone give me some companies who offers services and might have a new customer promotion going on now?

I don't have cable...I have Dish.  I'm pretty sure though that the Denver area for cable is limited to Comcast...they do provide internet as well.  I'm not aware of any promotions.

  • This will be slightly biased as my wife works for Qwest but they offer everything in one package and you get bundle discounts that are very good.
  • Phone
  • Internet (DSL)
  • Wireless (they resell Verizon)
  • TV (DirecTV)

Go to qwest.com for more information and to make sure they offer everything at your new address.

We're a comcast house and you can get everything bundled form them...we used to have the package but dropped the landline phones.  I think Qwest may be cheaper for the complete service...

As stated, it is basically either Qwest or Comcast. We had a horrible internet connection with Qwest so switched to Comcast and have had no issues, but I know people who have had the opposite experience. I would see who offers the better price for everything you want.

We had the exact SAME experience.  Qwest was completely unreliable and frustrating.  Comcast has been okay but you can feel the peak use times.

We had DirecTV and Qwest and wound up cancelling Qwest internet because we had to reset the modem (and the router and the Vonage thing) EVERY time we wanted to use the internet.  They flat out told us that if we wanted to pay more to use THEIR modem (rent it month to month of course) that we wouldn't have that problem, but otherwise tough luck.  I've had Comcast before and we're switching back.  They have way better DVR capabilities anyway and OnDemand is cool.

wanted to bump this in hopes i can get some suggestions on cable tv.

we've had Comcast for tv and internet since we moved in late July.   i love the internet and have plans of switching any time soon.

however.....i really really dislike the tv service from Comcast.    first off, the picture quality is mediocre at best.  non-HD stations are downright ugly and some are unwatchable.   secondly, HD stations are very limited.    ya we get the locals and a few other nice stations in HD, but there are a ton of stations only available in standard definition that other providers i have seen offer HD.   i'm a huge HD fan and i'm very disappointed.    thirdly, the DVR is not user friendly.    the software they use is very poorly designed.

sooooooo, i finally called DirecTV and decided we would switch.   i found an awesome package that blows Comcast out the water at a slightly lower price per month.   however, the tech who came for the install today from DirecTV has to essentially drill holes in 2 places we really don't want holes to be drilled and they want to place the dish on the roof...which i'm positive the HOA would not approve of (since other condos here all have theirs on the balcony).    long story short, we could SoL with DirecTV.

do we have any other options for tv service?   any advice?

Have you checked with Dish? My understanding is that their satellites are in different positions than DirecTV's, so the dish could probably go elsewhere. I've had both, and prefer Dish over DirecTV. I have Comcast for internet, which I'm happy with, but would never get them for tv...
