yorkee - 2009-08-27 1:46 PM Just registered this week! bib#7267.

Not sure if I can make it because I am so tight on my training schedule now.  Next 5 week will be critical.

Are we going to have a BT gathering spot?

I think a BT gathering spot is a must, I'd love to see some BT friends out there.  I have a lot of training to do between now and then.

Training is going okay a week after shifting focus from SBR to just running. Of course I have found out there is a world of pain previously unknown after 13 miles.

I'm just getting past that 13 mile mark now...I don't want to think about how I'll feel after mile 20 or so.

Just want to remind everyone doing this race that the border crossing requirements have changed this year and you have to have the proper documentation.  Check the website, but just a drivers license (unless its enhanced) doesn't cut it this year.

Fortunately it only takes about 3 weeks go get an enhanced DL.  I just got mine in the mail this week and darn it the picture's still lousy.

After some thought and training, I do not think I will be ready to run the half in October.  Maybe next year...I just do not feel confident yet.  But I am going to do the 10k for the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning downtown Detroit.  That is a more realistic goal for me.  Thanks everyone for the advice.

If anyone wants to get together, let Jamie and I know.  We will be staying down at the RenCen starting Saturday before the race.

This is where the starting line.  Last year, it is almost impossible to find anyone in the dark before the race.

I propose we gather here under the advertisement sign 1/2 hr before the race?  That said, it might be so crowd and the situation is unexpected.

Now someone propose a better meeting spot if possible...

yorkee, I like how you work.  I'd like to propose 45 minutes to 1/2 hour before the race start.  That's right by the start line, right?

Did my first 15 miler in prep for the half today...not as sore as I thought I would be and for not pushing too hard a pretty good pace!

you do know a half is only 13 miles...right?

10.5 last weekend...11 up next weekend.  This will be half marathon #4 for 2009, so I'm feeling pretty laid back about this.

After just missing a PR at RnR Chicago in early August and running the nation's highest and hardest 1/2 at Copper Mountain, CO, at the end of the month, I am hoping I can change training gears and gun for a PR in the 1/2.  My PR is 1:49:30ish.  I ran a 1:50:15 in Chicago with zero distance training this summer.  I was too tri-addicted to add distance.  After yesterday's Sprint at Autumn Colors (AG 3rd, 10th male overall) & my first Oly up at Tawas the week before I am ready to get to running the next few weeks.  I need to get a good 10-miler in next weekend or I may tri to do 2 laps out at Stoney for almost 12.

just did 18 miler yesterday... longest run in my life!

My knees, my heel, my left hamstring and my lower back are hurting.  I took a real ice bath (again, first time in my life) last night but didn't seems to help my left hamstring.

If I recover fast enough today and can do the 20miler this weekend, I should be ready.

15.4 for me Sunday.  I did the a trial run of the Capital City River Run 1/2 marathon course and then tacked on 2.3 miles afterwards.  That was my longest run to date.  If anyone's looking for a very nice training run come on out to Lansing next weekend the CCRR 1/2 is a beautiful flat course and is well run.  I know there are several Bt'ers running it.
