Subject: BIKING MESSING UP RUNNING CADENCE I started serious biking (for me ) last week and it has raised havok with my running pace! I'm a fairly strong runner (3:36 mary, 1:32 half mary, 19:22 5K), but after I get off the bike I can't seem to hit the breaks on my running!! It takes all I have NOT to be below 7:30 pace for 4 miles when I brick. Before I started biking and bricking my general training pace was 8:30 per mile. Now it's 8 minutes or lower. And before anyone asks, no, I don't use a hr monitor! My main concern is that I don't want to mess up my conditioning or running base by running too hard... but honestly, an 8:30 pace seems slow right now... argh. |
