Comments: I set a PR today! I've never gone under 30 minutes on this course, and I did it today. I was so stoked! Plus, my placing in my category is probably the highest ever too. I kept on looking down at my speed thinking "Wow, THIS is how I can ride with no wind to screw with my mind!" I felt really strong too. I cut almost 3 1/2 minutes off of last week's horrendous time in the nasty weather. That's pretty good. One thing of note: there were a LOT of bugs. I got quite a few in my mouth due to the fact that I had my mouth open sucking in air. Hey, it's protein, right? What would you do differently?: Not much! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Not much except genetics. I did pretty much the best I could do. Last updated: 2005-05-05 12:00 AM

Well, for the first time in 4 races, I actually had nothing to bitch about when it came to the weather. Today was a beautiful day. No rain (ok, a few sprinkles from a passing cloud), no hail, no gale-force winds, no freezing cold temperatures. THIS was perfect bike racing weather. I was so happy.
Warmed up on my trainer for a little over an hour. During this time, the wind went from non-existent to gusty and back again. There were some thunderstorms going through the area and we got some sprinkles, but I was sitting there praying that it would die down before my start time came. By the time my start rolled around, there was probably the least amount of wind I'd ever felt out at Cherry Creek Reservoir.
