Pre-race routine:

Alarm went off at 5:15 as well as a wake-up call. Then I laid in bed for 30 minutes. I'm not a morning person so I woke-up slowly. I put my hair in braids and got a coffee and sweet n' salty granola bar at the continental breakfast.
Event warmup:

nothing... lol... road my bike from the car to transition... does that count?
Swim
  • 10m 25s
  • 437 yards
  • 02m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good. Felt good.
What would you do differently?:

picked a better time for my 400m swim... I mean really... I should have put 5 minutes. (just kidding!)
Transition 1
  • 01m 54s
Comments:

No socks... GOOD IDEA!! Love this. No issues at all. I even considered it for the run but opted out. NO NEW CHANGES AT A RACE!
What would you do differently?:

put out my Garmin and TURN IT ON while I am setting up transition... grrr...I forgot to do this....
Bike
  • 38m 57s

  • 19.15 mile/hr
Comments:

PASSED PASSED PASSED. I was going so fast. It felt great!
What would you do differently?:

GARMIN!!!!!!
Transition 2
  • 01m 38s
Comments:

Took a second to get my socks on. But I took my time since I decided I wanted my shoes on right rather then get out of transition faster. I need to try and run without socks. I almost did it here.....I was tempted but I passed. good thing too!
Run
  • 31m 46s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 13s  min/mile
Comments:

There were a 3 water stops on the course and since it was a all ladies tri it was also an all male volunteer crew. At one of the water stops the men had on cargo shorts and bow ties. No shirts. They were offering water down the back of you shirt too. SO FUNNY. then when I got into the neighborhood there was a little boy (maybe 3 yrs old) with his dad, who was spraying waters on the runners. So I stopped and let him spray me. He was cutie.
What would you do differently?:

GO FASTER!!! Push harder!! I wasn't hurting at the end.
Post race
Warm down:

they handed out pink towels with the race logo. You could get it wet or dry. I opted for a wet one and that cooled me off tremendously. Had some PowerAid and called my parents while I was waiting for my hubby to call.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not sure.

Event comments:

Great race!!! LOVE IT!! Lots of positive attitudes and smiles though out!

Performance: Good
Suit: Sports bra and tri shorts
Course: This was a pool swim. You had to put your time in when you registered for the race. So in June when I registered I put 12m for 400 meters...(GRRRR) this put me at the back of the line. I was #374 out of 450 women (394 showed up)... I didn't start the race until 8:43. That made me upset since the ladies who were around me were talking about how they were going to side stroke the whole way... I pass a bunch of ladies right off the bat. At the end of the pool you had to wait for the ladies in front of you to get out since you HAD to touch the wall before you could get out. Well all lot of the ladies were having some issues getting out of the pool without a latter. So that held me up at least 30-45 seconds waiting for my turn to get out!

Great job!  It was a fun course and the guys at the second water stop were pretty fun.  I was annoyed by the swim start, too.  Have to change that for next year!

You were having way too much fun out there!

(I'm relieved that you were seeded high enough that you didn't have to get around me!)

Did you color coordinate your outfit with your bike, or was it just coincidence ? Great job out there!!!

TOTALLY Color Coordinated!! Now that I have a PINK BIKE I have to wear PINK!!! It would clash if I had on RED! lol

Did I ever tell you that I was at the Twin Cities Marathon (my frst one) and I was literally a quarter of a mile from the finish and it was all down hill. These two girls next to me said, "Do we have mascara on our eyes? Is it smeared?" I couldn't believe it....so I know it look funny that I wore pink with my HOT PINK NINJA BIKE .... but I DID NOT wear MAKE-UP!

Nice job!  Obviously your pink bike was getting an extra pink energy boost from all the pink power

(I admit to having worn waterproof mascara in races... I have no eyelashes!)
