Subject: Short Term Bike Storage...
After my first 2 tri's, I'm already in the market for a new bike.. will be buying a semi-decent (under $2000) road bike in the next few days...

Wondering the best way to store a bike between rides... as I'm living in an apartment.. and will soon be living in a shared apartment..

Planning on doing some sort of bike mounting.. is it better to do a frame oriented set up (space permitting) ... Is a tire hang system alright for short periods?

hanging it by the wheel is fine, if that's what you are asking. Bike wheels are meant to support the rider's weight, supporting the [much smaller] weight of the bike, indefinitely (i.e., no qualifier for short periods), is no problem.
