The water was wonderful today, I didn't want to get out.  Ok that got me a little excited :-)

Have a good race everyone.  if you see a guy on the run course with a monkey on his back, say hi...

LazyMarathoner - 2010-09-11 4:34 PM Enjoy tomorrow. Pause a couple times and take it all in. Stop at least once and hug a family member or a friend. Thank the volunteers and they will give you the biggest boost. Have fun, have a great race everyone. See you at the finish!

I EXPECT a BIG SWEATY hug from you along the route.

Have a great day out there everyone. It's been such a cool experience that no matter what happens I'm glad to have taken part and wouldn't trade it for anything. I might not agree with myself about this at mile 16 though.

Wow.  Just WOW.  I have a feeling that it's going to take a while for yesterday to sink in.  For now, I'll just be doing my 'old man walk'.  Gonna be hard with this big ol' medal around my neck.  Smile

Congratulations to all the participants, and many thanks to all the volunteers - especially my 'catchers' Kathy and Chris.  Oh, and too my wife - thanks for putting up with all my BS for the last year.  Love ya.

Wow. That was intense.Side question: I thought we could pick up our stuff today. Did I make some super major mistake by leaving it there last night?

Got all my stuff. It's a miracle! The line for the banquet is absurd right now. It's something like 2-3 hours long.

Congrats to all the finishers.  I made it in 13:26.  The swim start was amazing, the bike course was super challenging with the climbs resembling the TDF.  And the run was welllll an IM run (run/walk).  I had major stomach issues which lead to being disoriented for the first 10-13 miles ish but the chicken broth and coke helped a ton.

I hope everyone heals well and enjoys the time off.  Laughing

Congratulations to all of the IRONMEN in the group.

I had a really good day, the swim and the run exceeded my expecations which allowed me to finish in 13:39:17!  The fans were awesome as were the volunteers.  I saw so many BT'ers out on the course it was great to have that support!!

Here's to next year!

I had a great day!  I took the swim and bike super easy as recomended by many, which allowed me to run the second half of the marathon faster than the first.  13:56:56   Told myself to have fun and not worry about time.  It was fun!

Sounds like everyone had a great day...well I guess I am the glass half empty guy.

Really rough one for me. Had a great swim but was having stomach issues right away on the bike and just never got comfortable. Was feeling ok coming through Verona on the second loop. Hit that big downhill with about 10 miles to go and came to the intersection that had a giant pothole, hit it and blew my front trispoke. I had lost my tool to cut off a tire earlier so I was forced to wait for tech. A race official called for tech and said they were on there way. 45 min later, they showed and got me back going. I was out of nutrition and my stomach was getting worse.

Run was pretty much a light jog and a walk fest. I felt like I had the legs but my stomach would not let me go.  Struggled in at 14:42, only a few hours slower than I was expecting.

The only ray of sunshine is that all the stomach issues saved my legs and today I feel great. Did a little light jogging around the hotel before jumping in the car for the ride home.

Great job to everyone though, it was a perfect day out there.

Hey Shermbelle,

Sorry to hear you had such obstacles on an otherwise perfect day.  Congrats on sticking with it, and I hope some of the positive vibes you've spread to all of us on BT come back around to you during your next IM.

Does anyone else find it odd that the finisher’s medal for IMOO had stalks (?) of wheat on it? I am pretty sure that wheat is not a major export of Wisconsin.
