Subject: Value of a "trainer only" power meter?
Hey all,  I see that Kurt Kinetic has launched their new computers that have power meters, and they look very affordable.

It appears the power meter is only usable while on the trainer.  Wondering if its worth it to get one if you can't use it on outdoor rides or races.

Are there any "affordable" power meters that can be used outdoors?  They all seem awfully expensive from what I can see.

IMO you would get greater benefits by getting PM that you can use indoors or outdoors. you can get a power tap wired model for around $700.00
