Subject: sitting forward on bike seat
I'm watching the IM in kona, i'm wondering why some of the athletes are sitting so far forward on the bike seat?....i don't see how that can be comfortable nor have i ever tried it. Why are they so far forward?...

i sit on the front inch of my saddle. its more comfortable and puts me in the position i am looking for.

do you only sit in that position on a specific tri bike?....i use a road bike so i don't know if it's different because of that?...

this has always been a hot topic.  fitting etc.

lately i have been moving forward and i sit on the front of the seat.  and i can tell you once you get used to it, its more comfy.  for me at least.

I agree, once your used to it and it compliments your position it is more comfortable.

only on a tri bike in the aerobars, sitting up and climbing, or on a road bike i dont ride the nose at all

Not only I try to ride the nose as much as I can on the aero bars on most flats, but my whole saddle is moved a good 2-3 inches forward.  The back of the saddle practically is on top of the crankcase.  On downhills I prefer to sit back on the saddle and lay down really low, so I am as flat as possible
