I'm considering going back again in '10.  I think it might be time for me to revisit the challenge.

stevestenzel - 2009-10-22 3:46 PM Bear, here's their site: http://www.triathlon.stuorg.iastate.edu/drun/drInfo.phpHere's the results from 2008, and it shows a little bit about how it's run: http://www.triathlon.stuorg.iastate.edu/drun/resultsdr08.phpAnd again, here's my race report: http://iwannagetphysical.blogspot.com/2008/04/doughnut-run-race-rep... Happy eating!

How do they count the donuts and tabulate the results? Seems like it could get onerous with several hundred racers.

Anyone with any ideas or suggestions to make this a fun and well-attended event, PM me or post them here. Thanks!

In college we always had a beer mile at the end of the season.  Pound one beer before each of the 4 laps of the mile.  If you puke you get a penalty lap/beer.  It was one of the funniest things to watch.  Would the 4 minute miler/non-drinker be able to beat the 5 minute miler/booze hound?  Those were the days...

Bear, once you are done chewing and swallowing, a volunteer puts a sticker on your race number. At the finish, someone tallies all your stickers. GENIUS, isn't it!! Then they take about an hour to subtract time from your actual finishing time.

You get 1 min off of your time for every donut eaten and retained

Ooooh, how do they figure out how many you don't retain.

That's a good reason to for me to never volunteer to work one of these.  Just in case that's the new guys job.
