Hi,

Thought I should post up and tell you about me very briefly since I am new to the forum.

45 year old 6'3"  clydesdale, and have set some large goals for 2010.  I still have about 70 pounds to lose and still continue to keep healthy.  I have changed my eating habits and do multiple workouts while trying to stay healthy and continue to stay 100% family oriented.

I still have a long way to go, but I decided to register here, to learn more and read about others to try and keep myself on task for my 2010 goals.

Welcome aboard! Good luck with your 2010 goals! Lots of info here on BT!

My advice is don't hesitate, sign up for a race and get to training! Nothing like a race on the calendar to get and keep yourself in gear!

I was at a 50 waist and now I am down to a 36.  My goal is a 32 waist.

Thanks everyone and I am here to learn more and get better at everything, but mostly my running.

Weight loss is just part of my lifestyle changes.

I'm 56, 6'-2", 225#, down from 270+.

Don't make weight loss the goal. Make fitness; strength, cardio, aerobic, endurance, and body composition the goal. The weight will take care of itself. Even at 225# I'm currently at 15-16% body fat and considered overweight on the BMI calculators.

I am not making weight loss the goal as many people do.  I am really liking the change of my health and I will continue losing fat, which is a good thing.  I like doing things and I swim and bike a lot and that has helped with my fat loss.  Now, I am setting some higher goals and adding running to my life, so I can continue to my goal of a Half Ironman, and a full marathon.  But, I need a lower weight to make running a better thing for my body.

Welcome. I am 45, 5'10", 195. I just started working out, trying to eat right (still need a lot of help here), and doing races. I've done four races so far, and I am planning to do three this year. It has been a lot of fun.

I got sick of watching the weight, so I stopped weighing myself. When I did check, I had lost a bunch of weight. I probably could use to lose 10 more pounds.

My advice is to work out for fun and fitness, and the weight will come off.

Good luck.
