Can anyone recommend a yoga mat for carpeting? I have been using a towel and its just sliding way to much, I wanted to see what others use.

Still looking for a mat?

I have the old version of the Nike yoga mat. I find the centre line really useful, particularly for the warrior pose and the like. Keeps your body aligned.

I just bought a new mat - you could have my old one for free, but the shipping from Canada to California would probably cost you more than a new one.

I like the 3mm thickness. Too much padding and I find myself losing connection to the ground, which is just as important as the stretch itself. Some people have joint issues though and like a 5mm mat.

Non-slip is key, obviously. I think the lululemon sticky grip towels that go overtop are more hassle than benefit, but a lot of people seem to like them. Personally, I think Gaiam mats are nice. They're cheap and they get the job done. No, they aren't organic or otherwise eco-friendly, but they work fine and come in great colours/prints. Sold.
