So DH did one triathlon with me last season on his hybrid.  He made passing comments this year about being jealous of my ride (a simple Javelin Parma) and thought he MIGHT do more tris with a better bike.  So I'm poking around for a used bike for him under $500.  I only race Sprints and I can't imagine he will do anything bigger anytime the near future -- if he even does them! Innocent

Any thoughts on this bike?  2006 Giant OCR for $400?  Seems asking a little high for it?" target="_blank">http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/bik/1459059549.html">

Yeah, yeah, I know it's got to fit him...

That's actually a pretty decent bike. At the level of Shimano 105 is really where you start to see good , solid performance from the components, and those wheels will be solid (probably one of the best combinations for hand-built wheels right there, Mavic Open Pro rims and Dura-Ace hubs).

I don't think $400 is too much for that bike... those wheels would be about $150 used, the components would probably cost you $200, so basically, you getting the frame for $50...

It's a good deal, as long as it FITS! (sorry had to through that in there...)
