*for the record, there was free beer last year, don't want anyone mad at me if they don't have free beer this year!  I am learning just how important a thing like free beer (or any beer for that matter) is to the crew here Smile

This:  Belle Isle New Year's Eve Run has been a blast the last few years.  The kiddos have received a great trophy for doing the 1-Miler and they are chip timing the event for the first time ever.  My entire crew is doing the 4-Miler (Me, my wife, both kids & my Mom).

It appears myself and kathmich may be doing this.  I did not know about the free beer aspect, that may be a deal clincher.

Bumping this to alert everyone to FREE BEER!!

Definitely a possibility for me.  I would love this to be a tradition, sort of like the turkey trot.  (hint, hint, TrishM)

Game day decision.  Right now its taking me about 3 minutes to get from a sitting to standing position.  Ouchie, love the evil trainer man.  I look forward to my shoulders hurting on Friday after tonight's workout.

If you do plan on registering down there this afternoon, I'd try and get there no later than about 3pm.  The folks that put this on are awesome, but have been a bit slow and disorganized in past years AND everyone jams in to the Casino building to keep warm prior to the run which goofs up the logistics even more.  With them chip timing this for the first time I've done it, I can only imagine this will slow things down a bit more.

Finally, DO IT, this is a great (FUN) event!!!!!

I am out.  I am still in such pain.  My hammies have never hurt this bad and I'm not going to start the new year with an injury.  I have BIG plans for this year and want to build up to an olympic distance.  I had enough injuries and life events in 2009, I am ready to crawl into a hole until midnight and then start over.  Have fun everyone!  Have a wonderful New Year!
