I received a Gu flask for Christmas. Does anyone add any water to make the Gu come out easier? Gu is pretty thick stuff....

I haven't tried using it yet....4-5 Gu's as a test would make me wanna go run a marathon! haha!

I don't add water to my flask, but I use Hammer Gel and it's a little thinner in texture. You end up squeezing the gel out so I think the thicker ones would work as well.

Yup, I add a capful of water after it is full and it works much better. I really like to mix flavors with the gel flask. Try 3 oranges and 2 vanilla,it taste great.

For the bike i use a  flask as well.  No matter what type of gel I use I typically fill the flask 2/3 full with gel and top if off with water and mix.  I think this makes it easier to use while on the road as well as taste better.  Just my personal preference though.

I think it's a little easier to use if you add a bit of water.  Especially in winter and with the thicker varieties of GU (chococate, for example).

Depends on the flask. I add water to my fuel belt flask. The gel flasks from Hammer have a larger opening, so there's no need to add water to them.

I never tried water - how smart   I tend to add an extra shot more than I need, because getting out the last bit is hard.   But adding water seems more economical...

I bought the unflavored Hammer gel in a bottle and I add Sugar Free Torani syrups to give it different flavors and to thin it out a bit so it's easier to squeeze out of the gel flask.
