Member 89 | Subject: Swimp3 Got this for Christmas and was all excited about trying it out. What a piece of junk? I've tried everything and still can't get it to play. First, my MAC had trouble recognizing it. Second, once I loaded some songs from ITunes on it, I learned I had to go through and change the format for each song before it would play. Even after all that, still can't get it to play. Anyone want a barely used, never been in the water, Swimp3? |

It takes a little practice to get the timing right. It's so nice to be able to listen to music when you nothing to look at except the bottom of a pool. The sound quality is fantastic too. |

Anyone want a barely used, never been in the water, Swimp3? Sorry to hear that. That is so frustrating. I plan to purchase the H2O Audio this week. Uses the IPOD Shuffle 3rd Gen. Basically the unit serves as a water tight device to hold the IPOD and has buttons to use the unit that is inside. Has water proof ear phones as well. You can get the First Model that uses the Generation 2 Shuffle (square one) right now for about $59.00, but the 2nd Gen. Shuffle maybe hard to locate unless you already have one. You might try it instead. |

So many people using the same devices. Nothing like a little help and hope to the rescue. |

Sounds like it could be a mac compatibility issue you need to resolve. At the pools I go to everyone that has had another type of device spends all their swim fiddling with them as those with more traditional ear buds can't get them to stay put in their ears. You may have a dud unit but really the product is fantastic. |

Champion 7821 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Swimp3 I have a SwimP3 with a Mac and it works fine. You need to take it to the pool with you and play with the power button and then with the volume controls until you get it going. Once you set the volume, you'll probably never need to adjust it again. It can seem really loud in your ears, but, because of the bone conduction thing, the people around you won't hear it at all. But that means you won't be able to figure out if it's working properly until you bring it with you to the pool. It works better once your head's in the water. I remember being really frustrated the first time I used it, but it's fine now. I agree with you that having to change the format of each song is a pain, but that's an iTunes problem, not a swimp3 problem. Luckily, it holds enough music that you won't have to change out the music a lot. Stick with it--it's worth it. |

It works great in the water, but you can barely hear it if your head is out of the water. If you can't get it to work at all, then it's probably a bad unit that needs replaced. |

I had an issue with one, got an RA# immediately and it was turned around very quickly. Excellent customer support. Disclosure: They sent me the unit for a review which I still owe them, but I've been really impressed with it. Swimming with music makes a huge difference and I've found it to be a great unit once you get past the initial learning curve. |

Member 89 | Subject: RE: Swimp3 I was able to get it to work. Basically, I deleted everything I had put on it and started over. I had to go to their website and follow some very detailed PDF instructions of settings to change within ITunes. I had to create a duplicate MP3 file of every song I wanted to put on the Swimp3. Seems like they would figure out that the majority of their users are going to be ITunes users and adapt their technology to work as seamlessly as possible. At the end of the day, I'm just glad I got it to work and I'm looking forward to hearing some tunes in the water. |

I'm not...we specifically choose not to go the i tune route. Probably because IPOD is the largest selling portable music player on the planet. I held out as long as I could but the fact is they work great and ITunes is a solid good application. |
