Anyone know the date of the Taylorsville HIM?  I'm working on my race/training schedule for 2010 and trying to see if I can fit.  My "A" race for the spring will be the Derby Festival full marathon which is Apr. 24th.  I'm hoping there's at least 3 weeks before TVille.

I was on the site last night and it has not changed for a while I need to know also. Not sure what my key race is going to be yet. Miami looks so tempting. How have you been?

yeah I am clear to "resume my normal activities" I have been in the bike a few times but I have not run yet. Carrie got me a swimp3 for christmas and a buddy of mine got me some gargoyle goggles. So I am going to hit the pool soon. I hope to be into a plan this next week or so. Dude your schedule is full. I only wish I could do that many races. Not enough time in the year for everything I want to do. Full mary in the spring you are a running machine. I thought about doing one this year but we shall see. I have not signed up for any races officially yet. I figure taylorsville will be my spring and miami or cardinal harbor summer. Looking for some other halfs in the area. I do want to do the old ky home with you. So I guess so far I am looking at derby half, taylorsville, cardinal harbor, old ky home, borboun chase, and maybe miami..

For the past two year it has been the second or third week in May. Prob the 15th or 16th this year.

I tell you man, it did. It was colder than I wanted but came prepaired. Riding out there was awsome though. Very gradual climbs and nice downhills. I could ride out there for ever. I know It gets hot, but the lay out rocks. Ill have to look into IMAZ. Leggs felt pretty good, and I didn't cramp or have any issues. Now back on the trainer in cold 20 degree ky. Swam today a mile and gotta run and ride tomorrow.

I bet it was awesome out there.  I haven't been outdoors on my bike in months.

Turns out that Taylorsville HIM is same weekend as a trip I have planned with Ben's Boy Scout Troop.  His troop is going to Ohio to ride a 50 mile bike trail (paved over railroad tracks).  He gets a merit badge and I get some saddle time.

I still want to try a HIM this year.  Training wise, fall will work out better for me anyway.

wow that trip sound like fun. There are a ton of other HIM races. Going to do trainer now, if I can muster up some motivation. Gotta run tomorrow.

Let me know if you find one in the fall. I still have not decided on one yet.

To anyone that did the Taylorsville HIM last year...I assume that wetsuits are necessary? I don't have one, but I guess I need to look into getting one?

Yep, It is cold. It kind of took my breath away last year but once you settle in it is fine. I wore a jet ski wet suit that is sleevless and it did fine. I am no pro or anything and I did not want to spend the bucks for one race. I was glad I had it. If I did more wet suit races I would invest in a full suit. someone said something about renting one, but I have not heard anything like that.

Thanks for the info. I heard the the new Tri store, VO2 Multisport might rent wetsuits at some point, but they don't yet.
