Event warmup:

Did not get there in enough time for a proper warm-up. I did a little running and stretching before heading to the pre-race meeting.
Swim
  • 08m
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 36s / 100 yards
Comments:

Water was pretty clear and a nice tempreture. Probably could of gone without the wetsuit.
What would you do differently?:

Work on my stoke mechanics better.
Transition 1
  • 03m
Comments:

This year they put down carpet for us to run on from the beach to the transition and that was nice. This was my first race using a wetsuit and I was a little worried about having trouble taking it off but it was not a problem.
Bike
  • 45m
  • 14.4 miles
  • 19.20 mile/hr
Comments:

I went out too fast on the bike and I paid for it at the end of the race. I was hoping to average 20 MPH but those hills kept me from getting there. I tried to keep a high cadence thru most of the course. I drank too much while on the bike and it hurt me in the run. It was very muggy today, the humidity was tough.
What would you do differently?:

Not drink so much and I need more hill work.
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

T2 went as usual not much that I can do different.
Run
  • 29m
  • 3.3 miles
  • 08m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

Well the run did not go very well at all. I drank too much on the bike because the humidty was terrible and I thought I should drink extra. I also used up too much energy trying to go too hard at the start of the bike. I just could not get my legs to get going for about the first mile and a half. Then My stomach started to hurt and I couldn't seem to relax my breathing.
What would you do differently?:

Not drink so much on the bike and pace better. More bricks will help my legs get going sooner also.
Post race
Warm down:

Warm down consisted of me crossing the finish line and drinking more water and then 5 minutes later I puked it all up. Not fun, but I did fell better right after that happened. That was the first time I ever puked after exercising. I do not recommend it. :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I screwed up a couple things during the bike leg and I paid for it on the run.

Event comments:

Well it was not one of my best races but I did learn a lot of things so that is good. Actually I was pretty happy with my swim and bike times. It was just a bad run for me. I did do better overall then last year by 7 minutes. I was also hoping to meet some fellow BT'ers at this race but I did not see any of them. Not that I knew what they looked like anyway. The race almost doubled in size from last year which is a good sign. I will be doing this race again next year and get my time down to 1 hr and 20 minutes.

I am sorry I missed you this year.  Great race.  Sounds like some difficult time but I am sure you've learned something and that is also good.  It was humid and I can just feel those hills.  You still improved on last years time.  Great job.
