xeon - 2010-02-10 8:49 PM Main goal is to swim much better as compared to last year in any event I enter.  Two races I'd like to enter to compete against my times from last year.  Otherwise maybe an Oly and HIM later in the year.  Continue to have fun training and doing races every now and then.

Hi Xeon - do you have a specific time or pace you want to hit, and when do you think you'll sign up to the Oly or HIM? It's amazing how much being very specific with your goals gives you a massive boost of adrenaline and focus. Good luck! Cool

ironlib - 2010-02-10 5:41 PM 1. under 11 hours at IMWI
2. qualify for kona
3. stay healthy and injury/accident free
4. start to head up a triathlon team at the local high school and get the kids (especially girls) involved in our awesome life changing sport, and get them to finish one of the local sprint tri's
5.  win at least 1 out of the three sprint series tri's here in town (and maybe overall series win)
6. have fun, stay inspired and keep smiling!!

Great list Ironlib! Especially love your ambition with #4. Best wishes for sharing the love!

Qualify for this:

2010 Sprint Triathlon World Championships in Budapest

At this:

Quad City Triathlon

Hey Crowny2 -- great goal...me too! But that is a big stretch goal for me. Have only done one sprint before and need to make significant improvement...hoping that I was so inefficient in my first that I can make significant gains in each discipline and transitions. What's your age group and estimated time you need?

Go get'em!!
Chris

Unfortunately, my AG is 35-39.  There are 63 males currently registered for the race.  I have to beat 45 other guys to qualify.

Estimated time is a toughy.  My goal is to get as close to 1:10 as I possibly can.  That should make me very competitive to qualify.

I love this course.  It will be my 4th year doing it.  Eric is a FANTASTIC RD.  This should be one whopper of a race.  So looking forward to it.

To qualify for the Halfmax Championship by finishing top 1/3 at White Lake HIM.  This is a really big deal given it's my first HIM.

1. Finish my first Ironman.
2. Win my AG in any race (most likely a sprint)
3. Sub-5 HIM

Great goals! Do you know what time and splits you'll need to get to reach #2? Ironman training is for endurance but to win AG in a sprint is going to require lots of sprint work. If you have a plan for both you'll be in great shape, but could be challenging to get both in the same season...unless you're already quite near the top of your AG. What is the priority goal for you?

  1. Qualify for ITU short-course world championships in Beijing 2011 @ USAT Age Group Nationals
  2. Top 75 at USAT Collegiate National Championships

Those are my big two. Other smaller ones include top 10 overall at a local sprint.
