Holy half-pipe, Batman!  Shaun White can catch air!

And that was just his first run!

Ok, watching the nbc broadcast of the womens downhill....what crappy commentators,  Only good thing was they showed a different Helicopter overhead shot that CTV didn't get...

Watch two skiers and then a commercial...repeat....repeat...

What's the purpose of the two man luge?  Two guys lay on top of each other and slide down the same track as the single luge.

I don't think its a scam or publicity stunt at all. I just watched her downhill run and you could tell she was favoring the leg at times. I think it just showed that she is as fast on 1 1/2 legs as the other women are on 2.

It sounded like it was just an issue of how much pain she could tolerate. She could still do everything, it was just going to be incredibly painful.

That's what DVR is for. Some wicked wipeouts though (except for the woman who fell out of the starting gate)

I [heart] Lindsey

Agree...Lindsey is Hot!  and a great downhill skier.

I do like the NBC ghost skier comparison on the downhill.....Vonn is a Rocket.

Agreed, very cool technology.  They just showed Mancuso/Vonn.  Not a bad pair   I'm glad Vonn got her medal.

I'm still waiting to see the Shani Davis win in the 1000m.   And it's after 10pm for me.  I need some sleep and even CTV hasn't talked about it....or I missed...No love for Black Skaters....

Did any of the Half pipers give drug testing samples?

drewb8 - 2010-02-17 10:15 PM Awesome!!  I felt bad for the French girl who wiped out while still skating out of the start shack though.

I don't think anybody is feeling much of anything for the French.  I've noticed a lot of disinterest towards them from other competitors.

More weight that adds an element of speed and control?  But, that's my "I don't wish to offend anyone" response.

I caught Shani's race - he flew by his opponent on one of the turns - a good race.

The last statement/question - Why?  You looking for some?  Bwa hahahahahahaha.

Was a complete fluke in getting the tix - just ordered mens hockey the first day they were available - looked at the wrong date and thought I had Latvia and somebody and was going to sell them...

Thank gawd to the person who smacked me upside the head and told me who I was really going to see!

All right.  Maybe not on the part of her.  Granted.  I can see your point.

But I STILL think the media probably took this story and REALLY ran with it...  Probably gave it more attention that it deserved.  So it was still over hyped and a stunt to maybe garner more interest and viewers by the media and NBC.

She probably just wanted to deal with it and compete.  Which she did...

I don't know if it's undeserved.  She was favored in Torino and crashed out.  She's the best American skier, and this season the best downhill skier on the tour.  It's a comeback story potentially gone wrong.   Will she come through?  That's good drama and a crowd pleaser.  Jacobellis had the same story and screwed it up

I'm pissed one of my FB friends posted results today and yesterday (actually two did, including someone here... ahem... pennstate... but I won't say who), so they are hidden for the olympics.  Found out about tonights combined women's.  I still watch though

What?  No love for the men's figure skating Gold medalist?  Yeah, I didn't think so.  I never even heard of the guy, but, that would be a good thing instead of getting shoved in the face with nothing but Vonn and Jacobellis constantly, I guess.

The judges totally got it right!  Lysacek deserved the gold over Plushenko.

The hockey game between Canada and the Swiss was a nail biter last night.  We out shot them 45 to 20 but somehow ended up in a shootout that went too the 4th shot to determine the winner.  The Swiss goalie was out of this world and had one hell of a night.  Their defense all around was great.

Crosby who scored the winner on his second chance in the shoot out had a great quote.  Something like "I always dreamed of winning it for Canada in front of the country in a shootout.  Only in my dreams I score on the first try".  Anyways, I am still tense from watching it last night.  Can't wait for the Canada and USA matchup.

I agree on that count.  I was disappointed in how they scored Johnny Weir's free program.  He deserved a higher score than the people who fell!

They play 4:40pm pacific time on Sunday.  It will be one of the best match ups in the round robin and the winner will take 1st place in group A.
