This afternoon I was sitting at home watching the rugby (fair play to the irish for taking their chances), while all of my friends were boozing in the pub watching the same game. I'm trying to stay out of trouble at the moment because I'm running a half marathon next weekend. Anyway while I was sat on the sofa half watching the game and half pointlessly messing around on the internet my mind wandered and I started to wonder what I'm going to do as my next challenge after the run and so I signed up for a sprint triathlon in July.

anyway reality has kicked in, swiftly followed by fear at the prospect of what I've just signed up for and google has lead me here in the search for knowledge and advice. Hello everyone, I hope you don't mind schooling another newbie.

The way I see it...triathlons are what happen when you've got 2 days of unexpected down time in Iraq...now that I'm back I'm facing much of the same reality as you! Once you get your training underway, it will all fall into shape. I have yet to torture myself with my first race yet but I'm feeling confident with my training. This site has LOTS of great info on it and even more people who are more than willing to help you along with things. Good luck and best of training to you. Stay safe!
