I have a buddy who wants to get back into running, but is dealing with some knee issues & is looking for a run coach that could help him work up a training plan that takes into account some of his injury history. He's not a super-fast runner, but has done some half-marathons & the like. If anyone has recommendations for a good run coach, please post them so I can pass them along.

Joe Prusaitis from www.tejastrails.com can do over the phone help.

He could probably recommend someone for in person training.

I've had good luck with Texas Iron.

Allan Besselink (Smart Sport International) is a coach who is also a licensed PT.  He does a good job of training and injury avoidance.

He will also work on proper form to help prevent future injury.

Maurine "Moe" Sullivan, http://www.integrativefitness.us/.  Moe is a great friend (trains my mom and my wife) and I trained with her for ~ 5 years.  I would highly recommend her.

I recommend Valerie Hunt. For a runner with injury problems, she is great. She is a pose running coach which stresses form to deal with injuries.

I currently train with Texas Iron. Jamie and Andrea are great and have helped tremendously, but it's a totally different school of thought. I really recommend them if you are trying to get faster and want a coach to really motivate you to improve your times, etc.

Here's a webpage with Valerie's information. http://www.posetech.com/services/ValerieHunt.html
Her studio is in the Northwest Hills area.

If you recommend her to your friend, tell her Jeff Chapman recommended her. My wife trains with her and she and I raced together throughout the winter running season.
