I live here so I had an opportunity to ride the course this morning.  Just beautiful scenery, not too bad climbs and long decsents.  Swim was FREAKING FREEZING!!  Race is Sunday and hopefully the 4 days of nice weather can warm the lake up.  Best of luck in your race this weekend!

A man I work with is doing the half marathon and his sister is doing the triathlon.  It is so beautiful there...I think you are so lucky to live there.  Do you ski also?

I'm doing the 1/2 Ironman. Where do the OLY athletes swim? I know that we swim in Wickiup Reservoir.

I'm coming up from Klamath Falls on Friday, swim in the lake, drive the course,.....

Yeah, that was kinda of a dumb question. I went on the web and checked out the Oly course.

1/2 Ironman:

It says we should leave our bikes in T1 on Friday. That seems weird leaving my bike over night there.

I was checking out the top 10 individual times from last year and compared them to who is signed up this year and only Steve Larson is back. (I think?)

How cold is the water? That is my main concern!

If things don't change, I don't expect it to be really hot. In Klamath Falls, 120 miles south, its been 70 on the hot days, a little cooler than the average I suppose.

Talk later,

Randy

You WANT to leave your bike the day before.. .you don't want to have to deal with it race morning... You take a bus up to the swim start.. if it is raining then????..... The water from what i hear is pretty chilly... 60-62.

Crap!

That is cold! My first Tri was in 60 water which I thought was freezing. I am heading up there today to swim. Lets hope for a miracle and a really HOT sun today.

I'll be wearing my polar cap and long johns .
