Yes, it is a little last minute but several of us including myself and marmadaddy will be setting up a tent at the expo for this race Saturday and racing Sunday:

Revolution3 Half Ironman Triathlon - May 9, 2010

There are already a couple dozen BT'ers racing.  Would love to see you there.  We already have one BT house that is full, but I know where there are two more houses available at very reasonable costs and only up the road from us should you be interested - one is even in our backyard - just pm me for contact info - the last time we did this was Galveston, TX a few years ago and it was a blast.  Hope to see you there.

Sounds good Ron.  Tri Take Me Away and I will be present. I will be working the all3sports tent for a while prior to the race so I will be in the vicinity most of the time.

Thinking about signing up.  Just not sure I'm ready to do an Olympic.  Swimming and biking those distances is no problem.  As usual it's my running that is a problem.  Currently my 10k time in not on the good side of an hour.

i planned on driving down friday night and sleeping in the car.

if there is a couch or a floor somewhere i could rent for a couple bucks that would be awesome.

Well I've already signed up for the Oly and this will be my first Tri! Staying in a cheap hotel not too far from the venue. This will also be my first time in open water since it is too cold up here in northern Ohio to swim in the Lake. Looking forward to it and meeting some great new people!

Its going to be my first HIM, excuse me 'Half Rev' and first 'real' BT meetup!  I'm excited and with that being said, better go get my Saturday brick in!  I'll be getting in on the 6th and staying at the Hilton if anyone else will be there too, then around through Monday.

also for people wanting to stay very (like walking distance) close to the race start, the Hilton, Marriott, Hampton and Holiday inn are all extremely near the start line.

Most everything in that part of Knoxville is pretty hilly.  Just ran the half marathon there and never realized how many hills there are in that city till then.  It's nothing that can't be whipped though!

Swing by the run course turn around point and ring the bell and light a fire in my tired and worn out legs - I've gotta PR on the halfrev course to get a slot at the halfmax nat'l long course champs.  I'll have on a green trakkers jersey (crap, so will the rest of my team!)

My wife and I are both registered for the Oly.  Although dont know how much racing I'll be doing, played ice hockey this week and re-injured my ribs that I broke at the end of last season.  Swimming should be interesting!

The bacon lovers of BT coming to Knoxville for the Rev 3 may want to make a pilgrimage to Benton's Smoky Mountain Country Hams.  This is the source of the gourmet bacon in the nation's top restaurants.  I'm looking at you, Marma.   Bacon Mecca is just south of Knoxville between Vonore and Madisonville right on Highway 411.

Benton's has been in the news a good bit during the current bacon fad.  JWKMH happened to be in Madisonville this week and bought some Benton's bacon.  We had scrambled eggs and bacon this morning.   Bacon will never be the same.
