Master 1792 | Subject: RE: Central Arkansas Definately doing the CATS in Sept. A little worried about the hills though. I'm doing Mr. Trophy on Jonesboro May 3rd for my first one. It's far enough away from home, hopefully I won't know anyone. I'm doing the one in NLR at Burns Park June 1st. Then the CATS in Sept. and one in Heber Springs in October. If all goes well, I hope to do a couple of olys next year. |

Master 1792 | Subject: RE: Central Arkansas There are training rides that start in NLR at the Bike Rental place just down from the submarine. They are at 2pm on Sundays for now. The folks are training for CARTI's Tour de Rock...a 50 miler in the summer. Groupls vary from a 25 mph pace to 15mph. |

You can check them out on there website and forum. http://cabotcocruisers.16.forumer.com. I am also doing the tri at Burns Park on June 1st, Cats and the one in Heber. |

| New user 6 Conway Arkansas | Subject: RE: Central Arkansas A group of people ride from "The Ride" in Conway on Monday and Wednesday. Its a pretty slow ride. I don't know of any Tri groups. The CATS tri is fun, the hills are not too bad and the swim is pretty short. |

And I am sure the bikes shops in Little Rock has bike rides all the time. I am doing my first Tri this october the one in Heber. So, hopefully that goes ok. Just decide last month to do it. Not really enough time to train. But just looking to have fun. Normally like doing Ultras. Trail running races. But decided to try something else. So, my biking and swimming I need to work at. |

I just got an e-mail about the Tri-the Lake tri there in October. Have you ridden that course? From the elevation profile, it looks relatively nice except for one really significant climb. |

There is a long ride across the big dike about a mile long. Nice views. Then you go up the one big hill or big to me. Run course is not bad. Run around that area many many times. Veteran 177 | Subject: RE: Central Arkansas The hill at the Herber Springs Tri....... I made it up. First 1/4 of climb is tough after that it is just granny gear and continue climbing. For the ones of you doing the tri the climb is steep but impossible. |
