Subject: Looking for partner(s) for long weekend rides, Columbus/north
Hi  -
I'm getting into longer rides now, and I'm looking for someone to ride with.
I prefer Saturday over Sunday, but I'm planning to adjust with the weather.
I prefer starting at sunrise whenever possible so I can get home to the kids.

I'm training for Ironman (Sept. Rev 3). My rides are between 1.5 hours and 2 hours now, and moving up to 5 and 6 hours toward the end of summer.

Male or female training partner is fine. My average speeds in my log tend to be slow because I'm riding on the bike path now, but as the rides get longer and I'm out on the road, I will be faster. (I also don't use the auto-stop feature, so my average speed includes traffic lights, etc.) Not looking to break any land speed records. Not looking to get dropped after 5 miles. Will trade off pulling.

Prefer to ride in Alum Creek area, and north east of there.

Also planning a couple rides in hilly area (Hocking Hills) as well as riding the Rev 3 course one or two times this summer.

You know where to reach me. I'll be ramping up training in the coming months for Pelotonia so I'll be all over those Saturday rides.

I know I am a bit faster than you... but I am more than willing to ride any pace.

Awesome Justin.
Maybe if I draft off of you, it will be more equal and I'll be able to keep a faster pace overall.

This is my easy week in my training plan, so I'm not doing much of a long ride this weekend.
What does your Saturday April 17th look like?

You live near Morse and Hamilton, right? So you could get to Hoover Dam via Ulry Road fairly easily from home? I'll like to try that Red Bank Road riding area. I can also get there from home.

April 17th is open. How long you looking to ride? 2hrs? 2:30? You can draft all you want or we can switch up the pace. Might be better to go slower as I get my cycling legs back. I haven't been pumping out the volume like you.

Yes I live near Morse and Hamilton... Yes, very easy to get to Hoover Resevoir. I normally take Harlem though as it seems to have less traffic as I cut through New Albany.

I will be riding around there all summer. Red Bank is good times... it is one of the only places in town that I know where you can do some hill repeats and not have a ton of traffic. High Banks is alright but still lots of cars on the weekends.

Don't forget Alice, I have that class at the downtown Y on April 17. If you go out during the day you'll need to find someone to watch the kids.

Sounds great. Are you planning to travel up to the course at any point? I don't have any exact weekends mapped out, but I would like to do this once or twice. I'd really like to get a feel for the course, especially since it's a single loop.

Let me know if you are still going to try to ride April 17th. If not that is fine. I will still be out there and if anyone wants to join in the fun just let me know..

There is a lot of spring and summer to come. So keep me posted on when and where.

She just needs to hook up the bike trailer and suck it up.

I can take the weight. It's the screaming and fighting I can't deal with.

Great! I'll sit in back with them and keep them from fighting while you pull us along.
