Run
Comments: REALLY HOT out there. First mile was okay, but turning around the corner after mile 1 felt like running into an oven. Just didn't deal all that well with the heat, and turned out to be a little over a minute slower than my fastest 5k time. What would you do differently?: Probably nothing too much - with the duathlon tomorrow, and a softball tournament the rest of the day, I didn't want to push it too much. Should have tried to drink more, maybe. Post race
Warm down: Walk around. What limited your ability to perform faster: My inability to run well in the heat. Event comments: This race had the BEST spread I've ever seen! Brats, italian beef, pizza, all sorts of ice cream novelties, and the normal stuff -- bagels, bananas, oranges, AWESOME cookies, granola bars, energIce. Definitely going on my calendar for next year... heck, I'll sign up, and not run so I can get in the food line earlier. :) Last updated: 2005-06-20 12:00 AM

Same as always - bagel two hours before.
Gel 30 minutes beforehand. Try and stay in the shade where it was a few degrees cooler.
