Study addresses the effect of drinking a slushie (or ice slurry) prior to competing on hot days.

Looks like the effect was short-lived.  The obvious solution is to add slushies at the water/aid stations throughout the race.  I sense a sponsorship for 7/11.

I have a friend who when he rides with his family, stops at the end of the ride for slushies.  I am planning to point out that they should do the stop at the beginning of the ride.

I wonder if italian ice works too?  I could easily make a Rita's stop at the Rita's 1.5 miles from the house, before continuing a long ride.  Mmmmmmm - count me in for Swedish Fish flavor ice.

Well my hubby would be up for slurpies during workouts.  He adores Coke Slurpies from 7-11.  We live about 3 hours from the nearest 7-11 so when we travel, he gets them everyday that he can.
