Subject: New bike on the way - Blue Triad
I just got my first official fit today at ATA Cycles in Concord, MA.

Initially, I was thinking of a Kuota K-Factor, which they have in stock. They carry Blue, and I asked about the Triad SP with Rival, but they didn't have one in stock.

However, I just got a call at 8:00 PM (these guys are devoted and work late!) telling me that they did have a regular Triad frame in stock and would equip it with Rival and match the price of the Triad SP.

Including the 2-hr fit, the price is going to be $2800. Not a bad deal, since the frame usually retails for $2500 on its own.

I'm super excited, but know I have to probably wait until the end of the week for the bike to be built up to my measurements.

Here's a pic of what it'll look like (minus the Zipp wheels and RED gruppo):

I'll definitely make sure to post pictures. I think one of my lenses is helping to pay for this bike.

For those of you photographers, I have a 120-300 Sigma lens that I can sell for around $2,000. I only use it a handful of times every year, and it helps justify the cost of a new bike to my wife.

I have the T17, it is an absolute dream to ride.
I still feel unworthy of her in terms of my ability but I keep trying to make her proud.

Enjoy the ride!!

I haven't seen a retailer that carries Blue bikes. Anyone know why that is? Are they new or a smaller builder?

I just see their bikes on here and they all look really nice.

The shop that set up at the race I did a couple of weeks ago had a few Blue's on display (inlcuding the Triad). First time I'd even heard of them and I have to say it's a beautiful bike.

I raced my Blue Triad last weekend and it's sweet.  The smaller rear triangle really delivers your power to the road.  I think you'll be pleased.

I love Blue bikes. If I could have gotten one at the price you did I would have definitely gone with that over my Cervelo.

The Triad SL is my current dream bike.

The Cervelo P2 was definitely a bike I was thinking of, but it seems like 1/4 off all the bikes I see on the road are Cervelo's - I wanted something a little different. I've only seen a handful of Blue bikes, so it will probably be a talking point at races.

With a Rival group on the bike there will be some room for improvement for updating. To meet my price point the bike has an aluminum cockpit - that could also be an area for improvement down the road.

I'm really hoping that the frame will be with me for many years.

Blue is pretty new.  we have only been around for a little over 5 years but our parent company has been here for nearly 35 years (we are the largest SCUBA company in the US).

We are based in Norcross, GA which is a suburb of Atlanta and we are trying hard to grow our business.  We have added about 25 dealers in the last 12 months all across the country and we have more coming on each month.

The brand is really starting to get noticed with Athletes like Andreas Realert taking 3rd at Kona, Magali Tisserye finishing 3rd at 70.3 Worlds, Jodie Swallow winning ITU long course worlds and Scott Nyedli finishing 2nd at IM Australia.

We have also been getting some great reviews on our bikes, including this one from Bicycling magazine http://video.bicycling.com/video/Blue-AC1-SL-Video-Review/>
If you ever have questions about the brand please dont hesitate to reach out to us, you can email me directly at [email protected]

Chance,

You also forgot to mention that Blue Triad's got 1st and 4th at John Tanner last Saturday.  :P

Love the bike man.  Not only does it look sweet but it flies and turns heads as I pass people.  The guys up at All3Sports take good care of it.

Does it still come with wind tunnel time?

Complete build Triad and Triad SLs along with the Triad SL frame set all come with one hour of free tunnel time at the A2 tunnel.  The Triad SP does not.

I'm actually not sure of the wind tunnel time. The frame is the Triad, not Triad SP. It's being built with Force cranks and Rival for the rest of the group. Either way, Georgia is quite a distance from Massachusetts.

Scheduled pick up is on Friday evening for the final fit after it's been built. I really can't wait!

Pics should be posted on Friday.

I think the wind tunnel is in Charlotte, NC. Regardless of the tunnel time, it is a beautiful bike. SF had a Blue dealer (a tri shop) at one time but unfortunately, they went out of business.

I just spoke to the shop because I wanted to know what wheelset the bike was coming with. It is coming with Shimano RS20's, which should be ok for training. I'll get some better wheels down the road.

However, they said that they couldn't get a Rival group and were building the bike with a Force group for the same price - guess that's ok!

I'm counting down those hours until Friday evening.
