NE MISS.
Subject: Couple of more Garmin Questions.
My 305 may have died.  If that is the case and I have to replace it.  Is the 310xt worth the extra money?  I really like my 305.  Does the 310 use the same quick release as the 305 or would I have to replace it if I get the 310?

i personally dont think it is worth th emoney yet when i can get a 305 for 150 brand new but it also hatter what you plan to use it for? I only run with mine

I'm 99% sure that the 310 uses a new type of quick release that twists into the cradle for a more secure attachment.  That's the idea at least.  But since I don't own one I can say for sure.  I couldn't justify the price difference over the 305.

The Quick Release is different.  The one for the 310 is not as nice, in my opinion.  There are actually 2, the first one was rather junky, the second is better and uses the original wristband. 

That being said,  the upgrade is worth it:
If you need an ANT headunit for power
If you race long distnaces like an IM and need extended battery life
Or, if you need to swim with it.  (Use the swimming cap trick with the 305 works just fine) Plus you have to do the same with the 310 if you want the GPS to map properly.
