I guess you're not wearing a wetsuit otherwise that needs to be added to the swim list.

Number belt, or are you pinning number on your T shirt?

If it's USAT sanctioned, membership card, and photo ID.

I have a racebelt, forgot to put it down. ID's and registration I have.

No wetsuit for me, water temp is 76 and I couldn't afford one.

I need to attach a number to my bike, right? I am bringing cable ties for this. I figure it is like a running race number with holes punched in the top that I can loop the cable ties through?

Some races don't use frame numbers.  So you may or may not have to deal with that.

Sometimes the frame numbers have adhesive backing that you peel off and stick the number around your top tube or seat post.  It's kind of a pain to get off afterwards, and can stick on your pretty paint job.  So what I do is bring a piece of plastic wrap.  The clingier the better.  Wrap that tightly around the top tube or seat post, then peel off the backing, and apply the number.

If it's one of the numbers that uses ties to secure it, it's not a bad idea to have a few extras with you.  Sometimes I find the one supplied aren't long enough.

How bout a few extras:

Bike Pump and spares just in case of prerace flat
Clean DEFOGGED goggles
Heart rate monitor and watch if you have them
Bike Helmet (please don't forget)
Sunglasses
Hat or visor for run

I wouldn't bother with cycling gloves.

Best of luck, given heck!!!

Little band-aids or some kind of lube for the nipples. Sunblock.

If you are going to use cable ties for the bike number, make sure you have something that can trim the edges off. Instead of ties, I used a stapler at my last race and it worked great.

If you have a watch that does laps - that's nice too, to track your time in the different events.  Don't worry about it if you don't have a basic waterproof watch though.

For after the race, put a couple of extra water bottles in there with a washcloth.  If they have a shower, great, otherwise it feels REALLY good afterwards to get your washcloth wet and run it over your hot and sticky self.  Especially the face.  Maybe even dumping a water bottle on your head afterwards. Oh, lotion is good as well to get the race numbers off.

If it's going to be hot, I'd suggest filling your water bottles 1/2 way tonite and then filling them the rest of the way with water before you leave tomorrow.  Also, bring one unfrozen bottle, in case your others aren't thawed out when you need them.  Nothing better than having a nice COLD drink on the bike when it's hot outside.

Bring a comfy pair of sandals for after as well.  Your feet will be real happy.

Good luck!!!

How about a BIG WIDE GRIN for when you cross the finish line. That might be the most important piece of equipment you can bring Have fun!

Thanks Frank. I will have one of those the whole time probably as I ponder how I went from being a pack a day smoking, bloated, lie-about in January to a guy who can (hopefully) finish a sprint race.

Safety pins and duct tape.

You never know Actually, the race bibs haven't matched up to my race belt, so I just pin it on.

Remember - you don't need the race belt for the bike, I leave it off for the run. They should have the twist ties there for the bike number, but you never know.....

If you have been training with gloves. Wear them for the race. For the next one, train without them at the shorter distances., You won't miss them. I don't wear socks with my cycling shoes either, but I put them on for the run.

Enjoy it! You're only a triathlon virgin once!
