There has been a lot of talk in the Captains' Pow Wow and other threads about pledges.  If any members of this team are of a mind to do so, please send me a personal message indicating your pledge and I will update the list.  A simple line such as the following will suffice:

Machiavelo - Pledge $20, Swim 10,000 meters, bike 250 miles, run 25 miles

And yes harmony, your new avatar is "crazy", although I did prefer the old one.

Got a question on the weekly updates.

When we send you our totals Monday is that supposed to be for the month so far?  Or just for the last week?

Go Crazy 8's!!

cadreamer, just send the reading at the time for the month.  It is just a matter of looking it up on the left hand side of your training log.  I could do it but it would be faster to have everyone just send me their totals.

I should be able to add a bit more mileage this weekend. Car shopping and rain has been cutting into my training time!

Tootall you are certainly welcome, as long as your craaaazy. Or 8 years old. One or the other. Or you can just ACT like one or the other. That works too.

We are being bums, whats up with us??  I wanted to ask... I didn't send my current miles on Mon, was I supposed to do that?  How is everyone doing with their mileage/time?  Anyone need inspiration?  I took a bit of time of for some tightness/pain in my shoulder but that seems to be OK now.  Got a run/swim planned for tomorrow.  Thurs and Fri are still up in the air.

*ahem* Harmony, I do believe you're missing 2 hours of my running on that chart. Actually, I am slipping in that department, so I had better get back in gear.

Hey, I didn't calculate the numbers. Talk to either Machiavelo or Renee. You can see the original excel file here.
Click the file at the bottom of Renee's post. GO CRAZY 8's!!!

I am going to go over this month on swimming and biking but I am not going to even come close on the running. I am getting PF and I have to be careful so I can still keep training. I am not sure about what to do with my goals and I don't want to let the team down but running injured is not really in the cards for me.

Hey everyone....sorry my numbers look so dismal. Actually I am beyond the numbers indicated but had to send Michel an early report due to Hurricane Dennis. Fortunately, my area was spared a direct hit so training is back to normal. Pool opened again yesterday. That swim zero will be eliminated by tomorrow morning, I promise!

As I did not receive the statistics from some of the team members on Monday as I had requested.  Therefore, I looked them up on your individual logs.  If you added time or mileage into your after I looked it up, it would not be in the stats I sent to Renee.  Please, all members, PM me your challenge stats on Sunday after your training is done.  I will input the figures into my file and forward the results to Renee the next day.  I will also post the updated stats on this forum that same day.

Hey kids I have a quick question. I have some aerobars for my bike, but I usually have them removed because they are annoying. I've only used them once or twice. Do you think I have time to get used to them (i.e., not have my bike fall over when using them) before a Sunday race? I generally don't think aerobars are appropriate for my training rides, but they could have an advantage in a race.

I am very cautious about changing any gear right before a race. Would the offending aero bars hinder your race performance? Maybe you could add them after this race, train for a period and evaluate whether the bars are worth the aggrevation.

my plan calls for running late afternoon and riding tomorrow morning. it has been storming all afternoon so might have to alternate somehow. why can't the weather fit MY schedule?!
