Subject: Funny Running LT Field Test Results? So, I just did a LT Field Test in order to determine my updated running Lactate Threshold. It's been a couple months since I last did one because I have been dealing with ITBS, and I have been in therapy for that. Thankfully, I'm back to running, although I don't feel like I'm back to my old shape. Anyway, I got home, and the average of the final 20 minutes of the 30 minute run was 215. That seems high for me since my last test was at 173. I don't mean to compare numbers with anyone, but I'm wondering if I should even trust this. My biggest concern is that my HR monitor may have been off. My fear is that the synthetic shirt I was wearing was causing static electricity, and that messed it up. Anyway, any advice? Do I go with the number for now, or do I stick with the old number? It's real annoying to have finished a hard 30 minute run only to feel like it was for nothing. At least I can say I did a good 30 minute tempo run, I guess. Thanks. |
