Subject: First Tri in 12 weeks

Hello all!!

     I live in Philadelphia and I am running in my first triathalon on Oct 12 in NJ. I am extremely excited about it. Was wondering if there are any clubs, or other triathletes in the area that I could train with or if anyone has any hints for a first timer. Quick history about me: I am in pretty good physical shape but I am a weight trainer so swimming is very difficult for me. I do cardio but never anything like this. I played football for 20 years (kid thru adult) and I am presently 32 years old. I look forward to getting this done. Also, any hints for brand of gear/wet suit/bike/etc

Hey Walter.

There are several tri groups in the area; Philly Tri Club, T3, Team TRIumph are just a few.
What race are you doing?

thanks for the response, I am going to do the "Dottie's House End of Season Triathlon"  at Island Beach State Park in NJ and if I think I am ready I will do the "Warrington Day Triathlon" as it is only 5 miles from my House in Warminster. are you from the Philly area?
