Ok so I was just wondering what others thought of these two bikes and if they have any experience with them?

One bike is the specialized transition eliteĀ  and the Second one is the Trek Equinox 7 !!!!!

Any thoughts or comments would be great!!!!

Thanks

Giant tcr 1 Aero. I was looking at the same price range as you two months ago. The giant has better components than the trek, same amount of carbon. I can't get through to the specialized bike, but I am very, very happy with my giant and think it was deffiantly the better choice. Having upgraded gears is soooooooooooo nice!

Have you considered a Cervelo Dual?

Forgot to mention that one..... I was able to get a deal on my Giant, but the Dual is amazing. Personally, I say throw away the trek and the specialized, look at the Cervelo Dual or Giant TCR 1 Aero

Well I have looked at the Giant and I wasn't really liking that one, pluse the lbs it was at really wasn't helping and for the price that they were selling it for was way to much!!!!

I looked at the Ceverlo Dual and it looks like a nice bike, but I can't get it around here!!!!

The trek I can get a better deal then the specialized, but what do you think between the two of them!!!

Thanks

GJ

I have been riding my Trek Equinox 9 for about a year now and love the bike. It was a great better than entry level bike and has been bullet proof. I think Trek is asking to much right now for the Equinox 7 as I got the 9 last year for about the same price. What size are you looking at as I have just upgraded to a QR Lucero, wanted a lighter bike (carbon) and have been contemplating maybe selling the Euinox 9.

I would get the Trek, but a Trek Equinox 9. . .

Really all the bikes mentioned are good bikes. . . just depends on what fits good, how the bike shop is that is selling the bike and what color you like the best.

Hey there.

Between the two bikes I would lean towards the Trek. There isn't a whole lot to distinguish one bike from the other, other than the wheels and repuation.

Well, its really sucks( in my eyes) that you can't get the gaint at a good deal or the cervelo. At the price range your looking at, most tri-bikes will have a carbon fork and seat post, making weight between them close enough. If possible, get into ultegra compontents.... Is their another city within a reasonable driving distance to look at other bikes?

I bought my QR Caliente from www.preownedbikes.com check them out, good deals to be had. I am very happy with it. They are great to work with. It is mostly Dura Ace, bladed carbon seat stays and fork, alum areo frame & carbon seat post. BTW, I got it for way less than you are looking at spending and it is an awsome bike. You have to watch though, some of the bike have cosmetic damage, mine has a scratch and very small dent. They took about $1700 off the retail price and it came with a 3 year warrenty.

Buy the one that firts best

I think it's funny that you asked about two bikes (Trek and Specialized) and ended up with a whole lot of input about about three others (Giant, Cervelo, and QR).

If there are any retailers nearby, you might also look into Quintana Roo, or Felt. They are both companies that are geared towards triathletes.

The closest triathlon shop I could find to Fargo was Dakota Cyclery in Bismark, ND. Otherwise you might be looking at Minnesota or Iowa.
