Subject: Choosing the right bike for you
So I'm trying to decide between two bikes and I was wondering how most people here choose which bike works the best for them? I've gotten it down to two bikes at my LBS.  I road them both around the parking lot for a bit and I can't tell a lick of a difference. So what type of things should I be looking for?

Btw, I'm looking at the Felt z85 2011 and a 2009 Scott s20 Speedster (slightly used). z85 costs $100 more, but would come with a warranty.  The LBS will support the used s20, but no warranty. Supposedly the s20 has lighter wheels because of a lower spoke count and has a carbon seat stay.  Pretty much everything else is the same.

For me, it was ALL about me being 45 and having "somewhat" limited mobility (compared to experienced riders and folks much my junior).  I chose my roadie and my tri bike, based on that knowledge.

I ended up with a Cannondale Synapse and a Cervelo P2C.  Both fit ME, great (neither is very aggressive).

Good luck.  Bike shopping is a lot of fun.

Take a coin and flip it.
While the coin is in the air, think about which way you want it to fall
Catch the coin and put it in your pocket. You've made your decision.

If they both fit, go with the Felt and the warranty. Felt makes some awesome bikes, and their customer support is outstanding.

I love my FELT... however, I can't help but think the Scott may be a better bike? The MSRP is higher on the Scott - and I don't think the Scott Brand costs more than the FELT brand - so there must be something that makes that bike worth more??? The only reason it's less money is because it's slightly used - and an older model... see if your LBS will cut the cost even more...

I'm just weird like that - I like a bargain...

I was kind of thinking the same thing.  Brand new the Scott costs more, so it should be a better bike.  But aside from the lighter wheels, I can't think of any reason why it would.
