Subject: Recs for custom road bike builder (build around 650c wheels)
I am looking for recommendations for custom road bike builders.  I would like to have this bike built upon 650c wheels.  I am 5'5" female (29" inseam- read: stump legs).  It seems like all of the road bikes out there that are built on 650c have very small frames (for folks around that 5' mark).  I am obviously too tall for those.  However, I ride a 48cm Cervelo P3 with 650c and absolutely do not want a 700c bike.  I used to own a 51cm P2 with 700c and it always felt too big; like the bike was riding me.  Handling was not nearly as crisp and intuitive as with the smaller bike either.  I want a properly sized frame for a road bike built upon 650c wheels.  I would like carbon fiber, but would entertain titanium.  This bike would be my group ride bike, occasional hill ride bike... and if it was that sweet, maybe I'd use it in a half-iron.

Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

With custom frame builders, you'd be hard-pressed to find any that do so with carbon fiber. But... There are several that can do what you're asking.

Lynskey: http://www.lynskeyperformance.com/a/

Mandaric: http://www.mandaric.com/

Rock Lobster: http://www.rocklobstercycles.com/road.php

TiCycles (I have two of these, both Softride frames, one in 650): http://www.ticycles.com/

Tom Teesdale: http://tetcycles.com/

There are MANY others as well. Possibly Landshark?

Another option not mentioned is Calfee. They actually make a 650c Tri frame standard.

Also, Parlee which I forgot about.

Don't forget about Guru, they do custom carbon frames in 650c.  Just check the model specs on the website to see if they do that model in 650c, I know they do the Evolo in your size.  Heck they will even make you a titanium one if you want.  Guru
