I'm registerd for the sprint.
Still getting over the flu but I think I should be good to race.
I've done GL II the past 2 years and always enjoyed it.

I too am doing the sprint tri.  I've been doing Guelph Lake for years and it is a good race.  Have a good one!

Signed up for the Du. I really didn't like the GL1 sprint bike course though (quite a bumpy ride). I hope it isn't the exact same route.

The weather is looking a little grim for this Saturday! Temp. of 17C, showers and 35km/hr wind.

Precisely why I went out for a ride last night (sustained wind of 25km/hr and gusts of 43km/hr at the time I was out). Aero position is very intense with cross winds of that magnitude. However, tail wind I can deal with!

I hurt my hip last week in the Cobourg duathlon. So no Guelph Lake II for me this year

I'm peeved! I drove up from Oakville, unloaded all my gear and went to the transition when I hear the Race Director say there are no disc wheels allowed. Guess what? I just installed my aero-disc cover this week.  I spoke to the RD for a second and he confirmed it.

OK - I pack up and throw my bike and gear back into the van. Then I go down the hill to collect my T-shirt and swag... That's when I find out that a disc wheel is OK as long as you sign some additional waivers. Its now 10 minutes to start. No chance of running back to get my gear, set & suited up, etc. WTH!

Everyone knew it was gonig to be cold and windy today, yet Trisport never sent any info on what the potential concequances / restrictions may be. And then the communication over the loudspeaker was misleading - the announcement was that "Disc wheels are not allowed" - no mention of the waivers.

So I spent $70, drove 250km round trip, and wasted a Saturday morning with little to show for it. Grrrrrr.....

OK, I'm done venting. I'm doing the MSC Lakeside Oly in two weeks, It can only go better.

P.S. (venting back on) - This year's T-shirt sucks. The last two years were great (the 2008 brown and 2009 black) - but this years white shirt will immideatly be relagated to pyjama or bike cleaning duty.

I ended up doing the race (even with a bad left leg) and I think I only seen one disc wheel. Come to think of it I didn't see many aero rims today. I guess there was a bit of wind out there?

Aside from my bad leg (which cost me at least 10 spots on the final run) it was a good race. Wet but good.

Wow, holy windy!!! Speaking to the organizers, so windy they couldn't keep thed bouys in place even with double anchors and the kayaks were paddling non stop just to stay in place!!

Was a little peeved at the second run. Running is my weakest point. All in all it was still fun. Crappy weather and soo windy I was at about a 10 degree lean most of the time in the cross wind! lol Well maybe not quite 10 but it felt like it...

Will definately be singing up for another one, have to because I technically still haven't done my first Tri..

Windy and rain!  What a ride that was.  Certain parts were tugging at the bike and I thought I was going to loose it a few times.  Never seen weather quite like that before during a tri/du.  Chalk up another experience I guess.  Bravo to all who conquered the elements today.  Crazy we are!
