I was wondering if you all could help me out.  I am going to be heading to San Francisco this Friday through next Wednesday and I am looking for some good riding routes and trials to do some running.  I have been looking a map and reviews on the internet trying to come up with something I would enjoy, but figured I would also see if anyone has any advice on here.  I am looking for any routes/trails around Napa, but I am not opposed to riding/running in Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Chico, Santa Rosa, and Nevada City.  I also need to rent a bike for the ride, so I also need advice on where I can look to get a good bike to rent.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Well since its almost Friday and not too much help, Ill give you a few suggestions or Ideas since Im in the Central Valley and not as familiar as others in the area. Marin is a good place to ride & run and very athletic community and not too far, not sure about rentals but you could send an email and see if they know.

Petaluma is another great place to ride and has some great trails, its just south of Santa Rosa. Thier website lists some local clubs and routes and Bike shops with contact info.

Thank you so very very much for this great information.  I can't explain how crucial this information was and I'm glad it came before I actually embarked on this trip.  I just started going through all those links with various routes and I curious to what your favorite is?  I've never been to Northern California so I am eager to take in some great views while still getting a great workout.  Planning on spending 6-8 hours in the saddle.  Also, one other note of information, I am not opposed to traveling to outside areas around San Francisco(within a 3 hour distance) as I am going to be living out the back of my rental car and would like to run/cycle each day.  Thank you again for your help and look forward to reading more possible responses.
