Okay this was a really weird event for me today. Just a couple of weeks ago I did another MHR test using the workout that's featuresd in the Heart rate Articles on this website. Well anyways me feild tested MHR came out to be 205. Great it's exactly where it should be acccording to the 220-age rule. Well today I did a really short warm up (about 4-5 minutes) and stretched. Then I shot out the door on my bike and in a matter of a minutes it was up to 215 bpm. I thought this was Really odd and was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Sounds like an abberation...maybe some interference on your HRM. You should never reach your MHR in "a few minutes."

Something's not right. Do the check at least twice more, if you get the same results I would check with my MD. That's really high.

I'm also only 15 (not a full triathlete either) and I also have a really high rhr of 59 and I've been riding for almost a year.

It is common to get erroneous readings on HRM's if the "contact" with your chest isn't good or from outside interference (radio signals maybe?).  Was it like that for a prolonged period or just a momentary peak?

It was up the entire ride but also I was going REALLY hard to simulate an upcoming TT. It's not uncommon for me in situations like that to hold a HR in the upper 190's for nearly half an hour and it's always seemed to easy. I don't know, I'm baffled by it.

If it was really hot outside it could up your HR pretty easily. For instance, while setting everything up today at home for a bike ride, going up stairs and so on my HR was between 54 and 60 (yep I had my HRM on since I got dressed). I went out, and while I locked the door and verified chainstay and so on prior to riding my HR went up to 82 with no effort whatsoever. It was 111°F outside. Neddless to say during my ride, I had a hard time keeping the HR low, so I just ignored it and regulated myself by RPE.

In cold weather I have a real hard time to push my MHR to 194/195 while running and to 184/185 while biking. In warm weather I can do that in about 15 minutes just after breaking a sweat.

I would vote for a mistake by the HRM, often if you are close to outside signals they will give a very high reading, signals could be a extremely low powerline or such.
