I just started training for what will be my first Olympic Triathlon.  I'm not sure what all to post here right now but I just thought it would be one thing I could use for accountability.

I have been able to swim about a mile a couple of times in about 31:00 but that is at the Y in the pool and also with about a 2 min. break about 1/2 way through.

I ran 3.3 miles last night, which is the farthest I've been able to do, in about 25 mins.

Have not biked yet.  Hopefully soon.

Oh yeah,  I'm weighing in at 211 lbs. as of today.  Would love to shed about 25-30 lbs. by race day.

As far as the weightloss I would encourage you to keep a food log.  This way you know how many cals you're taking in daily and can adjust from there.  Not losing move them down, losing too quickly bump it up.

If you haven't already I'd advise developing a written workout plan. If you look on this site under programs there are several Olympic distance plans that you can adopt or modify to meet your needs. Whether you are new or experienced you need a well thought out roadmap that is balanced among the disciplines and speed/distance. Weight loss is greatest when you mix up intensities of workouts. Some long and slow, some shorter and faster.

2x popsracer.  I did my first sprint last August, first OLY in September.  The plans on here steered me right through them, along with the advice of so many on here.

You have plenty of time and a good swim base it sounds like. My first tri was an Oly and it was definitley a challenge. But the hard part was about the last 8 weeks. The plan I was using took a LOT of time each week. It was beginning to wear on my wife's nerves! It's important to schedule your training smartly.

Good luck and train hard!
